This Canadian book contains pages about the Mariana Trench as well (and has a picture of my boss in it).
It looks great!
Its title is "The Top 10 Most Amazing Land Formations" and the Mariana Trench is number 4.

Below are some books that my boss is familiar with and thinks you may like. No, Oceanography
for Dummies does not exist yet. My boss (who is a marine scientist and geologist) did write an outline for it,
but it didn't fit
within the publisher's marketing strategy.
